Ratnam SA wins 4-3 after going down 3-0 against Franco Sports

Western

9th January 2018, Mumbai: In the Group E encounter of MDFA First Division, A.A Ratnam SA produced a brilliant comeback to edge Franco Sports FC 4-3 after going down 3-0 in the first-half at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel earlier today. Yogendra Ladd scored in the injury-time which completed an astonishing comeback for Ratnam SA.

With this win, Ratnam SA has moved to third in the Group E table with seven points in five games while Franco Sports FC is lying second from bottom with only four points.

Franco Sports made a terrific start. Rohit Mandal gave them a huge lead in the 2nd minute before Tanmay Talgaonkar and Nayan Kajve scored two goals within the space of three minutes to put Franco Sports 3-0 up in the 18th minute itself. At the break, Franco Sports were cruising 3-0. There was surely no coming back from here, that’s what Franco Sports must have thought of Ratnam SA.

In the 42nd minute, Ratnam SA pulled one back through Sunil Das’ sublime goal to ease off the pressure. They had the whole second-half to turn the tables around. The turning point of the match came in the 52nd minute when Johnson M. scored a terrific goal to cut short the deficit to just one goal before equalizing just a minute later to make it 3-3 with more than half-an-hour left. Franco Sports’ momentum was broken right there.

With the match heading towards a draw, Yogendra Ladd snatched a late winner in the third minute of the injury-time to complete a fabulous comeback and helped his side to snatch all three points in a crucial match.
