Preview: MDFA 1st and 2nd Division Final

On Saturday, two of the most anticipated MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association matches will be contested at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. The First and Second Division Final is all set to be played on Saturday with JMJ Sports Club playing Mother Teresa Foundation in Second Division final while ICL Payyade will lock horns against Atlanta FC in the First Division final.

All the above-mentioned teams have already gained a promotion in Super Division and First Division, respectively. But it is all down to the bragging rights now as Mumbai is all geared up to witness a new First and Second Division’s Champions.

03:00 pm – JMJ Sports Club vs Mother Teresa Foundation

In the semi-finals, JMJ played Maurya Youngstar FA in a thrilling contest.  After both the sides were locked at 1-1, JMJ Sports Club edged Maurya in penalties to book their place in the final of 2nd Division. Rohan Kadam had scored for JMJ, whereas, Akhil Shetty scored the equalizer for Maurya in the second-half before JMJ shot down their counterparts in the penalties. In the other semi-final, Mother Teresa got the better of Silver Innings FC in an eventful match to set up a finale clash against JMJ.

04:00 pm – ICL Payyade SC vs Atlanta FC

In First Division semis, Atlanta FC narrowly overcame Skorost United 1-0, courtesy of Juventus D’Mello strike in the first-half. Atlanta defended brilliantly after going in front to book their place in the final of MDFA First Division alongside ICL Payyade SC who defeated FC India in the second semi-final.
