Mustafi reveals the toughest opponent he has ever faced!

Mustafi has played against both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi while playing at Valencia

Who’s the best footballer in the world? Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? This has been the topic of many debates all over the world. Both the Portuguese attacker and Argentinan maestro are blessed with tremendous ability and are tough nuts to crack for any defenders.

But, according to Arsenal defender and German international, Shkodran Mustafi, Lionel Messi is tougher than Cristiano and is the toughest opponent to face.

“I played him three times with Valencia. You cannot predict him, he is small and very quick, changes his direction quite often. When he runs towards three opponents you can nearly be sure that he will break through. Messi can also play good passes and make his team-mates stronger. For me, he is the best player in the world,” said Mustafi.

“Ronaldo is more of a striker in the box,” added Mustafi. Cristiano has turned out to become a fox-inside-the-box at Real Madrid.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo had an incredible season. After a dreadful start to the season, Cristiano managed to perform tremendously after the turn of the year. He has netted 15 goals in the UEFA Champions League, which quite an astonishing figure.

Elsewhere, Messi also had an identical season. He guided Barcelona to victories in the Spanish Copa Del Ray and Spanish La Liga and was consistent and impressive throughout.

Both Cristiano and Messi will look to clinch their 6th Ballon d’Or this time with by inspiring their respective teams to glory in the FIFA World Cup.
