Salah and Neymar have serious chances to dethrone Cristiano and Messi

Cristiano-Messi duopoly has been ruling the footballing world since 2008

Another FIFA World Cup is on cards for football fans across the globe. As the ball starts to roll in Russia on June 15th, the entire footballing world will finally shift their attention into Russia.

It has almost been a decade since the Cristiano-Messi duopoly started. Both the Real Madrid attacker and Barcelona magician has been stunning the world with their tremendous ability to decide the games and to emerge triumphantly.

However, according to Lionel Messi’s teammate at Barcelona, Coutinho, Salah and Neymar can dethrone Cristiano and Lionel Messi from the footballing empire.

Messi and Ronaldo have been up there on their own for so many years. I think it may be time for other players to aspire to be the best in the world – and the best at this World Cup, too. For me, Salah and Neymar have serious chances to do that. It depends on how the tournament goes, of course, but they have the talent to do it. Those are the players I would pick out,” said Coutinho.

He has played with Neymar at the Brazil national team and has also spent half-a-season playing with Mo Salah at Liverpool. The Barcelona midfielder was in full praise for Salah, saying, “Watching Mo Salah since then has been amazing,” he added. He is going to be a player who will be a big hero at Liverpool for a long time, I am totally convinced of that”
