16 January:
Three goals in the space of six minutes was enough for Mumbai Warriors to be pegged back as (MFC) FC India made it four wins in a row in group D of 1st Division Mumbai district football. After being goalless for first forty minutes, Jaspreet struck one of the fastest hat-tricks of MDFA (40’, 43’ and 46’) to put FC India in a commanding position in the game. Sanath Valladares struck the fourth, two minutes from full time to complete an impressive 4-0 routing.
Group D: Mumbai Warriors U19 0 – 4 (MFC) FC India (Jaspreet Singh 40’, 43’, 46’, Sanath Valladares 78’)
17th January:
Wellingdon Cath. Gym twice came back from a goal down to pull off a draw from the jaws of defeat courtesy of an impressive performance from Lionel Fernandes who scored the two equalisers. After Aman Gaikwad’s 14th minute strike put PIFA into lead, Lionel Fernandes scored the equaliser around the break to make it 1-1. However PIFA once again took the lead around the hour mark when Omkar Shinde found the net making it 2-1. But once again Lionel Fernandes denied PIFA three points as he scored a late equaliser to make it 2-2 and sharing of points.
In another game, Keval Pagdhare’s 17th minute strike turned out to be winner for Colaba FA as they defeated Steadfast 1-0 in a group B fixture. Colaba FA currently sits at fourth position and is just a win away from group B top spot with a game in hand.
