MDFA 2nd Division: Aman Khanna scores decisive goal for FC Mumbaikar
Producing a solid determined and fighting performance, FC Mumbaikar managed to score a second half winner to snatch a narrow 1-0 win against Marouli United in a keenly contested Second Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019, and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel.
FC Mumbaikar and Marouli Unnited were engaged in a tense battle for supremacy and both the citadel survived some close calls. But midway through the second session FC Mumbaikar managed to gain the ascendancy and their energetic and dashing striker Aman Khanna with a snap effort scored the decisive goal in the 70th minute. Later, FCM defended resolutely and hung on to their lead to emerge victors and pocket all the three points.
In another match, United Villagers Welfare Association tamed the young Samuel Football Academy 3-0. Striker Yeona Bhandari netted a brace of goals and Brijal Possa got one for the winning side.
