MDFA 1st and 2nd Division Round-up

7th January 2017, Mumbai: Over five matches were played across MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association First and Second Division in the last couple of days at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Bombay FC faced Atlanta FC, Kenkre FC U-17 played PIFA Colaba U-19, Mumbai Warriors encountered Madanpura SC, in some of the key clashes in Parel. Here is the Round-up of the matches played:

First Division

5th January: Group C – Kenkre FC U-17 (Somishon Sirak 5′ & 33′ and Ninglum 80′) 3-1 PIFA Colaba U-19 (Rishon Sam 65′)

On Friday afternoon, Kenkre FC U-17 faced PIFA Colaba U-19 in the battle of young talents at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Kenkre FC hit top form to register a comprehensive 3-1 victory against their counterpart PIFA Colaba. Somishon Sirak bagged a brace for Kenkre while Ninglum scored the third goal in the dying stages of the match. Meanwhile, star midfielder Reshon Sam scored the lone goal for PIFA.

6th January: Group D – Mumbai Warriors U-19 (Rahul Solanki hat-trick, Pratik Sharma and Raj Rane) 5-0 Madanpura SC

On Saturday, another young side displayed brilliant performance when Mumbai Warriors U-19 locked horns against Madanpura SC. In what turned out to be a one-sided affair, Mumbai Warriors U-19 won 5-0, thanks to a fantastic hat-trick by Rahul Solanki. The other two goals were scored by Pratik Sharma and Raj Rane.

Second Division

5th January: Group B – Supreme FC (Aniket Lad 43′) 1-1 Bombay Disabled (Shriraj Madhavi 11′)

In the late kick-off, under the floodlights, Supreme FC encountered a strong Bombay Disabled team in a Group B clash of Second Division at Parel. Both the sides played out a 1-1 draw to snatch a crucial point. Shriraj Madhavi opened the scoring for Bombay Disabled in the 11th minute which was equalized by Aniket Lad in the 43rd minute.
