Central Railway sinks St. Sebastian 3-0

24th February 2018, Mumbai: Central Railway continued their hundred percent record in the Super Division after sinking St. Sebastian 3-0 yesterday at Goans Sports Association Ground, Churchgate. The Railways are sitting comfortably at the top of Group C with four straight wins.

St. Sebastian had a steady start but very soon they faded as Central Railway initiated to take control of the match proceedings. The deadlock was broken in the 18th minute when Ajinkya Nalavade opened the scoring with a wonderful finish.

Both the sides had several opportunities in the later stages of the first-half but poor finishing at either end kept the score 1-0. In the second half, Central Railway’s in-form striker Karim Shaikh was brought on.

And just like he has been making an impact after coming off the bench this season, the experienced forward’s impact put the game beyond St. Sebastian’s reach. Karim setup Shahbaz Pathan who brilliantly finish with his right foot to double Central Railway’s lead in the 75th minute.

Seven minutes later, Karim and Shahbaz combined well to set up Manoj who scored from close-range to hit the final nail in the coffin which gave Central Railway an emphatic win.
