BPFL Day 5 Highlights: Fleet Footers continue winning streak

Fleet Footers continue their winning streak with a close 1-0 win over Myrmidons Sporting Club, in other games of the day, ND2 Soccer Stars pick win while Shelar FC hold on to a draw.

In the opening game of the round 3, Shelar FC faced a struggling Kajupada FC in search of their 2nd win of campaign but struggle to grasp hold of the game as the match ended at 0-0 draw. Coming from two heavy defeats where they conceded 13 goals, Kajupada produced an inspired performance to threaten Shelar FC numerous times. However, a strong defensice performances led by Goalkeeper Basil D’cunha’s heroics, Shelar FC managed out to sneak out with a point.

In the 2nd game of the day, ND2 Soccer Starz produced a strong dominating performance to score a 3-0 win over Vibrants FC, who succumbed to their third successive loss. While Denny John, Dhuval Waghela and Lanster Fernandes found the net for ND2 Soccer Starz, Vibrants FC struggle with out of form forwards continued as the side failed to score any goals for third consecutive game.

In the final game, Tushar Poojary’s 2nd minute strike turned out to be the difference as Fleet Footers FC made it 3 wins in a row. Both sides are favourites from group A and while Fleet Footers seem to have lived up to its expectation, Myrmidons SC are now lagging behind the top spot by 5 points. Despite the defeat, Myridons SC’s Noel Dais was the bright spots having produced some excellent performance, creating numerous chances for the team eventually picking up best player award.
