Upbeat Lajong FC look to continue winning spree against Churchill Brothers FC

The Goan side look to start of the new I league season on a winning not against an upbeat Shillong Lajong FC who edged Gokulam FC in their opening game
After kicking off with a meticulous win in the first match of the Hero I-League 2017-18, now onus is on the Reds to carry on their winning spree at their home ground against Churchill Brothers FC Goa in their second home fixture on December 2, 2017.
Albeit the boys churned a win the other day, Shillong Lajong assistant coach Alison didn’t seem to be very happy with the performance of the boys because according to him, they played what might be called “Good Football” but not “Attractive Football”. “For the next match, I expect my boys to play better and focus more on attacking”, Alison expressed.
Alison also said that his boys have gained more confidence after the first win and have been training hard to make it two in two in their opening two home fixtures. “After the win on Monday, the boys have gained more confidence. But now our main focus is the next match against Churchill.”
“The boys have recovered well from the first match and we have been training hard. We are ready for our second home match,” Alison further added. Newly appointed Churchill Brothers FC Head Coach Shevchenko said that they have a joke for such a situation, he quipped, “It is as if we came into winter from summer.”
On being asked about the strategies against the home team regarding the match, he preferred not to disclose much and stated that his team would play according to their plan. Churchill head coach said, “We haven’t had too much time to prepare as the foreigners arrived late but with the Indian players the preparation has been good.”
“It is a fresh team and we will get better game by game”, he added.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 05:30 PM. It’ll be telecast live on Star Sports 2, Star Sports HD 2 and streamed on Hotstar and Jio TV.
