RCF Nadkarni Cup: Mumbai FC down spirited Central Bank 2-0

Mumbai FC Reserve team showed plenty of flair, good skills and combined effectively to record an impressive 2-0 win against a spirited Central Bank of India in a first round match of the 110th RCF-Nadkarni Cup football tournament, organized by RCF Sports Club under the aegis of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) and played at the RCF Colony ground, Chembur on 13th February2017 on Monday afternoon.

Playmaker Patrick Mascarenhas played a key role by creating two fine chances which were converted by his teammates Umesh Perambra (45th minute) and Sohail Khatri (65thminute) and which fashioned Mumbai FC win. Central Bank started well and created quite a few openings and wasted a couple of easy sitters initially and those lapses proved to be costly and which to their downfall as the youngsters gained in confidence and took the game away.

Something to cheer for the Mumbai FC fans who have witnessed the senior team lose 6-matches in a row in the Hero I-League. Mumbai FC Reserve showed tremendous resilience and were up against the questions thrown in their direction by Central Bank of India. As far as the ifs and buts go, it would be a totally different game had CBI taken their chances.

Mumbai FC will face Mumbai Customs side on Wednesday in the next round. Stay tuned to football counter for all the updates.
