Premier Futsal season 2 announced Barcelona star as new marquee player and a Film star as a new co-owner for Hyderabad team Telugu Tigers

Former Barcelona and Chelsea star, Deco has been named as the marquee player for Telugu Tigers as Premier Futsal kicks off its second season in Mumbai on September 15. Adding more hue to the colorful team will be the Baahubali superstar Rana Daggubati who will be the co-owner and brand ambassador of Telugu Tigers.

There are very few footballers who can boast of a CV like Anderson Luís de Souza, popularly known as Deco to the world. The Brazilian, who opted to play for Portugal is one of those rare footballers who have won two Champions League titles for different clubs. In his 18-year long career, Deco has won the league cup honours in four different countries. Deco came to limelight with Porto, where he played during 1999-2004 and winning league titles in 1998-99, 2002-03 and 2003-04. In his final season in Portugal, 2003-04, Porto won the UEFA Champions League and Deco was named UEFA Club Footballer of the Year. He joined Barcelona in 2004 and went on to win the league titles consecutively in the next two seasons. In 2006, Barcelona also won the Champions League title. Deco then joined Chelsea in 2008 and went on to win Premier League title in 2009-10 and the FA Cups in 2009 and 2010.

Regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world by many, Deco represented Portugal 75 times and even scored 15 goals. By signing Deco as the marquee player, Telugu Tigers have managed to net a big catch of the soccer world.

Talking about his association with Telugu Tigers in Premier Futsal Deco said, “I am really excited to have got an opportunity to travel to India and play in Premier Futsal. Unfortunately, I could not play last year in the inaugural edition of Premier Futsal due to injury but this year I am excited and looking forward for the experience. I have heard many things about that the magnificent country but this is the first time I will be visiting it.

Meanwhile, Rana’s association with Telugu Tigers will definitely raise the stocks of the team among the local fans. He is one of those rare superstars who have tasted success both in regional and national cinema consistently. “It has been a matter of great pride and honour to be associated with Telugu Tigers in Premier Futsal. I am sure with Deco as a marquee player in the team, the Telugu Tigers will rock this year. I am also sure that my fans will come in large numbers to support my team in Premier Futsal in every centres,” said Rana.

Premier Futsal Season 2 kicks off on September 15 in Mumbai where matches will be played at NSCI Worli, until September 17. The next round of matches will be played in Bengaluru from September 19 to September 24 at Koramangala Indoor Stadium. The semi-finals and final will be held in Dubai from September 26 to October 1. The tickets for this marquee-sporting event will be available on Paytm.

The inaugural edition of Premier Futsal was played in 2016. Mumbai 5s won the inaugural season by defeating Kochi 5s.
