Miners Sports Club vs ESIC ends in a stalemate
Miners (A) Sports Club and E.S.I.C were involved in a stalemate in their Mumbai District Football Division (MDFA), First Division match held at St Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Friday, March 24th, 2017.
The final match of this Friday under the floodlights turned out to be a 0-0 draw as both teams were well off in the final 3rd of their gameplay. A match that promised a few goals, in the end, was a goalless draw. Miners and E.S.I.C both fielded their strong XI with the intent of claiming all three points. The first half was a bit dull compared to the second and only a couple of opportunities for both the teams which were well off target. The score remained 0-0 at the break.
Compared to the first half, the second one started with a bit of more energy as there was some end to end football in the opening minutes. The E.S.I.C keeper was involved in a few one on one saves and did extremely well to keep the score at 0-0. Miners finished the half better but in the end, both teams shared the spoils. A point well earned by both sides considering the conditions and saves made at both ends.
