MDFA’s Republic Cup Tournament: Round up day 2

24th January 2017, Parel: After a successful day one of the ‘Dr Nitu Mandke Memorial Cup’ also called MDFA’s Republic Cup Tournament sponsored by Mumbai United and Indian Football Academy, day two seen four more matches played from the another pool. Qualified team Sea View, Mumbai United, St. Pauls, Carmelites SC, ESIC, The Bombay Disabled’s Association, ICL A & Worli SC will be tested against superior teams at the later stage of the tournament.
Here we have the result of the day two fixtures of the tournament.
Sea View trashed ICL B 4-0 in the first round of Pool B. Harshil Sonaiya, Roshan More, Tushar Kamani & Agnello Fernandes scored a goal each to sealed it all for Sea View. Sea View will now face Sellebrity FC scheduled on 25th January 2017 at 3:00 pm.

Pranit Gaikwad’s goal in the 16th minute gave a first half lead to Mumbai United Athletic Club as it was later doubled with an own goal by Rohan Wadekar of Bharat SC in the 30th of the second half. With this, they go on marching in the second round where they will be facing Dena Bank on 25th January 2017 at 4:30 pm.

St. Pauls defeated Kenkre FC U19 in the tie-breaker as the game was left unscored until full time. St. Pauls came out to be the best out of both as they scored all three along with Kenkre FC who fall one goal short to score.

In the fourth and last match of the evening, Carmelites SC played against Rhino SC and scoresheet remain levelled 0-0, hence it was decided through tie-breakers as Carmelites SC beat Rhino SC by 6-5.
