MDFA: Veniza virar FC make it three wins in a row

FCM, Jolly boys share spols in second division while in 1st division, Bombay FC edged past Goregaon FC and Veniza Virar FC topped group E table.
1st Division:
Goals on either side of break gave Veniza Virar FC a third consecutive win of the campaign. Nilesh Chavan struck the opener six minutes before break before Suraj Swail doubled the lead minutes after second half resumed to guide Veniza to a comfortable win. The win sends Veniza Virar on top of the group E table.

In another game, Goregaon SC lost to Bombay FC by a solitary goal margin. Charles Fernanades struck in the 55th minute to give Bombay FC a 1-0 win. The win keeps Bombay tied on six points alongside Skorost FC and Atlanta FC and among the top teams in group F.
Game 2: Goregaon FC 0 – 1 Bombay FC (Charles Fernandes 55’)

2nd Division:
In a 2nd division game, two top teams from group C faced each other with a winner taking the top spot. However both FC Mumbaikar and Jolly Boys failed to win as the game ended in 1-1 draw, keeping both the teams tied on 8 points alongside We Care FC. Adhitya Swami’s 10th minute goal was cancelled out by Satish Rathod’s second half strike for Jolly Boys.
Game 3: FC Mumbaikars (A) 1 (Adhitya swami 10’) – 1 Jolly Boys (Satish Rathod 46’)
Ten man Godrej & Boyce put up a determined performance to edge Sporting option by a solitary goal and keep themselves in the hunt for top spot. Tawfik Manham struck early in the game to put Godrej in front. However a second booking for Sunil Ghogale in the same game meant Godrej had to defend their solitary goal lead with just ten men. In the end, Sporting Option failed to break the defence of their opponents as the game ended at 1-0.
