MDFA: Renaissance, United Villagers extend winning streak to 6 games

Maurya Youngstars FA beat FC Mithagar in 3rd division, while in 2nd division Renaissance and United Villagers continue their dominant group run
2nd Division:
In a group C fixture, Jolly Boys moved to a 2nd spot after a 1-1 draw against Mumbai Rush Soccer Club. Tanuj Shankarwar scored a 14th minute goal to put Mumbai rush in lead. However around the hour mark Lawrence Dias pulled things back for Jolly Boys as the match proceeded to end at 1-1.

In another 2nd division fixture, FC Mithagar faced Maurya Youngstars FA with the latter coming out triumphs. Pranit Nair opened the scoring for Maurya Youngstars FA in the first half before Akash Indulkar and Akshay Aggarwal slotted home two more in the second half to complete a 3-0 routing of their opponent.

3rd Division:
In a third division fixture, Renaissance blanked their opponent Western India United FC 5-0 to make it six wins in a row. Sylester Chunekar scored a brace while Omkar Godre, Abu Shaikh and Bjoy Varghese slotted one each for Renaissance. While Western India have leaked in 13 goals in 6 games this season, Renaissance defence have held a fortress conceding just one goal in six games.

In group G table toppers fixture, United Villagers welfare edged Yeshua FC 2-1 in a close affair extending the gap at the top to eight points. After an even first half, Royden Pila’s early brace sent United Villagers Welfare to a quick 2-0 lead before Nimesh Shetty pulled one back for Yeshua FC. Despite late attempts from Yeshua FC the game ended at 2-1 score line as United Villagers made it 6 wins in a row.
