MDFA: O’sheish FA, Veniza Virar FC continue winning streak

O’sheish FA dominant winning streak in 2nd Division continues while Veniza Virar FC make it four wins in a row in 1st division.

O’sheish continued their dominant winning run with a clinical performance against a strong Worli Sports club. Both sides came in to the game with a run of four games on winning note. While Worli had a strong strike force that had struck 13 goals in four games, O’sheish came in to the game boasting a top class defensive line-up having kept clean sheet in all of their games.

It was O’sheish that took the game to their opponent striking as early as 4th minute to get control of the game. However Worli SC grew in to the game as end to end game ensued, although neither managed to find the net again till the break. In the second half, O’sheish once again started out strong registering two quick goals to make it 3-0. Altamash Khan, who scored the opener, completed his brace with a 43rd minute strike while Emaad Nadkar added the third three minutes later.

In the final stretch of the game, Worli SC’s attack finally broke O’sheish FA defence as Atharva Shinde notched a consolation goal for his side around the hour mark as the game ended at 3-1 score-line. In another 2nd division fixture, (KNFC) Naseeb Reloaded played out a 1-1 draw against Joshua Generation as both sides maintained their top spots in group D table with 10 points with the former having a game in hand.

18th December, 1st Division:  

Mumbai United registered their first win of the campaign in their fourth attempt edging Sterling Das FA. An own goal in the seventh minute from jersey No. 17 of Sterling, gave Mumbai United an early lead in the game. Despite attempts from Sterling to get back in to the game, Mumbai United defensive line produced a disciplined effort to deny any inroads for their opponents. The game ended at 1-0 with the own goal separating both sides.

In another group E fixture of the day, Ratnam SA succumbed to 1-2 defeat against group topper Veniza Virar FA. Nitin Joseph struck in the injury minute of first half to put the Virar side in lead, but a second half strike from Johnson M pulled Ratnam SA back in to level terms. However Nilesh Chavan’s late strike gave Veniza Virar their fourth consecutive win of the campaign.

Game 2: Ratnam SA 1 (Johnson M 58’) – 2 Veniza Virar FA (Nitin Joseph 40+2, Nilesh Chavan 74’)

2nd Division:

In a group G fixture, Sahar Silver Star FC register their fourth win of the season as they beat Godrej & Boyce 1-0 to jump to second spot in the table. Sibin Varughese struck mid way through the first half to put Sahar silver stars in lead.
