Kenkre Champions League (KCL)
The new edition of Kenkre Champions League (KCL) went underway on 8th January at Matunga with the objective to bring out young and emerging talents from Mumbai who can go on to make it big in the upcoming years.
After a successful edition in 2016, Kenkre FC has set their minds to leave no stones unturned after introducing better and bigger platform for the participants who can hone their skills.
Talented and best players to come out from KCL will be given a chance to represent Kenkre FC in respective age categories which is a great opportunity for all the kids to showcase their skills. This will also help to promote India’s grassroots programme in different sectors.
The first day of the tournament saw over 30 matches which also included some of the top young sides from Mumbai. Here is the Round-up of Day 1:
U10 L1
In the U10 L1 category’s opening game, Real Mumbai and One World Hawk Eyes met each other. In what turned out to be a thrilling match, One World Hawk Eyes held Real Mumbai as both the sides shared a point each.
A young and talented Arya Upadhyay netted a brace for Real Mumbai, whereas, Palash and Siddh scored apiece for One World Hawk Eyes to kick-off their campaign with a respectable draw.
After earning a hard-fought point in the first game, Real Mumbai faced a talented Scottish Strikers in the second game. Emerging talent Aadiv Das registered two goals in quick succession which led Scottish Strikers to a 4-0 victory.
Arjun Jhaveri and Arnav Srivastava also got on the scoresheet.
Other results from U10 L1: Don Bosco (Meet Munyal and Christiano Fernandes) 2-1 One World Hawk Eyes (Aadit) and Don Bosco (Christiano and Aayush) 2-1 Scottish Strikers (Deeptansh).
U-10 L2
Two brilliant goals from Mahsuvin guided FFA U10 to a 6-0 victory against One World as they kick-off their campaign on a positive note. Karan, Abdeali, and Atharva scored the remaining goals to seal an impressive win.
The second match saw AB Champs and Bombay Patriots meeting each other in the last group match. Ishaan Makharia scored twice to snatch away a 3-1 win for AB Champs in an end-to-end game.
Reyaan Bafna scored the third goal for AB Champs, whereas, Dimaan netted the lone goal for Bombay Patriots.
U-12 L1
In the U-12 category, Bosco Striker faced FFA Red in the opening game. A goal each by Vedant, Harsh, Neel, and Scott meant that Bosco Strikers started their journey with a 4-1 win. Dev scored the lone goal for FFA Red.
Bosco Strikers won their second game too after an impressive performance against SSE U12 as they won the game 6-0. Scott and Harsh scored twice, whereas, Neel and Zarayus netted one each.
In the other game of the category, Shayaan’s four goals helped Lightning Bolts to register an 8-1 win against Super Stallions. Yusuf, Adriek, and Idris also got on the scoresheet.
Shayaan’s brilliance was matched by Joshua who also scored four goals to help his side Jaguars to register a 10-0 win against SSE U12. Gautam, Hridya, and Arnav scored the rest of the goals.
Other results: FFA Red 2-1 Dynamic, Chargers 3-0 Super Stallions, Dynamites 2-1 Chargers, and Jaguars 1-0 Lightning Bolt.
U-12 L2
An astonishing and impressive team performance by FFA Blue saw them clinching a 6-0 victory against Athletic Mumbai in their opening game.
Hamza, Aryaveer, Hanzala, Zeiv, Dwaj, and Aarav scored one goal each to complete the victory.
In their second game, Zeiv scored a fine hat-trick to help his side FFA Blue to register a 3-0 victory against One World FNF.
Other results: OIS Utd 1-0 One World FNF, OIS 0-0 Athletic Mumbai.
U-14 L1
A goal each from Raghav Dutta and Altamash Valsangkar saw The Football Academy starting their campaign on a high note after a 2-0 victory over Lion Welfare Football Trust B.
Though Lion Welfare Football Trust’s A side got to a winning start after a 2-1 win over Iron Born Blue. Arhan and Kabir scored for Lion Welfare Football Trust A, whereas, Joel scored for Iron Born Blue.
Other results: Iron Born Blue 1-0 Lion Football Welfare Trust B, Lion Football Welfare Trust A 2-1 The Football Academy.
U-14 L2
A brilliant performance by Sandesh and Raj inspired SSE U14 to clinch a 10-0 victory against Lion Welfare Football Trust C. Sandesh scored a massive goal, whereas, Raj netted a fine hat-trick. The remaining goals were scored by Vasant (2) and Ashraf.
Fiery Dragons displayed amazing attacking football to win their tie 5-0 against Scottish United. Arihan scored twice, whereas, Tamish, Sudhanshu, and Anirudh scored apiece.
Other results: Bandra (Soham Sharma hat-trick) 3-1 Lion Football Welfare Trust C.
U-16
An impressive team performance saw SSE U16 registering a 3-0 victory over BD Tigers. Shreekant, Santo, and Ganesh scored apiece to clinch the victory.
Other results: Red Devils 2-1 OIS Devils, SSE U16 2-1 OIS 10, Bosco Bolts 2-0 Balmohan and Red Devils 1-1 BD Tigers.
