110th Nadkarni Cup to commence from 30th January

Mumbai, 10th January: One of the oldest tournament in India – Nadkarni Cup, is set to commence from 30th January 2017 onwards at RCF Sports Club Ground in the RCF Colony, Chembur. All the Elite Division teams are invited to the Tournament with the entry fees of Rs. 5000 shall be handover to the organisers, at MDFA office at St. Xavier’s ground Parel or Cooperage ground.

The last day for registration is 20th January 2017. This will be the 110th edition of the Tournament which is quite astonishing.

In the last edition of the Tournament, Mumbai FC narrowly registered a 1-0 victory over Air India, courtesy of current Mumbai’s captain Steven Dias who scored in the stoppage time of first half to guide Yellow Submarines towards their second Nadkarni title in four years.

The Nadkarni Cup carries great prestige in Mumbai Football and has seen several Indian greats take centre stage in this tournament over the years. The tournament has a great history of producing some of the most exciting games in Mumbai’s football history and is a tournament which guarentees some high-profile upsets.

The winner and the runners-up of the Tournament will be awarded a prestigious trophy alongside Rs. 1,00,000 and 50,000  respectively.
