Jai Bharat Score late to hold Karnatak Amatures

Mumbai: Jai Bharat scored a late equalizer to hold Karnatak Amatures to an exciting 1-1 draw in a playoff match of the 21st Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football League Tournament 2016 –2017, conducted by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

It was second playoff match of the day. Karnatak Amatures started well but failed to break the Jai Bharat defense early in the game.  Both sides were seemingly had the strong defense especially Jai Bharat were rock solid refusing  Karanatak Amatures’ strikers any space.

The first stride of the game happened very late when it was almost certain that the game would end in stalemate until Karnatak Amatures won a penalty. Gaurav Rao stepped up to take the spot-kick with confidence and put his side up front with the 1-0 lead.

Jai Bharat tried hard and pushed forward in order to get an equalizer. Soon after they were rewarded for their efforts as  Ravi Rathod found the back of the net in dying minutes to make the scoreline even.
