Fort United emerge winner against LIC SC in 5 goal thriller

Mumbai: Ruffians and BPCL register comfortable wins whereas Fort United edge past LIC SC in a 5 goal thriller in the 3rd Division matches of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) held at the MSSA ground on 20th April, 2017.

3rd Division – Group C

Fort United 3-2 LIC SC

Fort United got off to a great start as they took the lead in the 3rd minute through Russell Pillai who again scored in the 17th minute to make it 2-0. In the 20th minute, Aziz Khan made it 3-0 as they were in cruise control but LIC got two back before the halftime as they scored in the 30th and in the 34th minute to make it 3-2. LIC just couldn’t get the equaliser as the game ended 3-2 in favour of Fort United.

BPCL (REF) 2-0 Creek View

Creek View continued their bad run of form as they lost 2-0 to a decent BPCL side. BPCL got the lead through an own goal in the 17th minute and they doubled their lead in the 28th minute through Blessingson and was enough for the victory.

3rd Division – Group G

Milan FA 1-0 Chembur YMCA

Milan FA took the lead in the 3rd minute of the game as Danish wriggled through the Chembur YMCA defence and scored a nice goal. Milan FA then held on to the lead until the end of the game and won 1-0.

3rd Division – Group H

MIllat FC ‘B’ 1-0 Mumbai Warriors ‘B’

The game was evenly matched during the first half as both the teams had their fair share of the possession. But in the second half, Millat FC took the lead through Mushfeaq Shaikh in the 40th minute which was enough to give them the win.

3rd Division – Group A

Ruffians ‘A’ 2-0 Miracles FC

Ruffians had Kaustubh Sawant to thank as he scored a wonderful brace. First of Kaustubh’s goals came in the 9th minute through a tap in while the second came just a minute before the half-time to make it 2-0 to the Ruffians.
