Five-star Lubna shines in Companeroes SC big win
Mumbai: Exhibiting fine skills and good scoring touch striker Lubna Sheikh played a stellar role by scoring five goals and leading Companeroes SC to a comfortable 7-0 win against a hapless Oscar Foundation SC in the MDFA Women’s League 2017 match and played at theKarnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Tuesday. The WFL is being promoted by the Sporting Lions and Mumbai City FC as the technical partners.
Lubna’s teammates Shalene D’Souza and Anisha Raj chipped in with one each to complete Companeroes’ winning tally.
In a closely fought encounter, Bandra Packers SC pulled off a narrow 1-0 win against KNFC with striker Namrata Thakur scoring the crucial winning goal.
In another match, FSI outplayed I.C. United by a 7-0 margin. Akanksha Kandalkar with three strikes and two each from Amruta Gladys and Jyoti Mehra helped FSI complete the margin of victory.
