Fauji Chacha grabs Gold in All Maharashtra Athletic meet
23rd November 2017, Mumbai: The adage “Age is just a number” can be rightfully put beside the evergreen Boxer FC’s Fazal Shaikh, known as ‘Fauji Chacha’, is still making his name even at the age of 61.
A few days ago, in the All Maharashtra Athletic Meet, which was held at Mumbai University Ground, Fauji Chacha grabbed a Gold and Silver medal in the Triple Jump and 100m running, respectively.
Fazal Shaikh was later felicitated by the head of Yuva Sena and MDFA’s President Aditya Thackeray for his remarkable achievement.
The 61-year old Fazal Shaikh is currently the oldest player in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association). He is currently displaying his football abilities with Boxer Football Academy. The majority of the football faithful in Mumbai know Fazal Shaikh as ‘Football Chacha’ for his supreme longevity as he still acquires the skills to run down from the wings to create havoc in opposition’s defence line.
