Companeroes, Packers score contrasting wins

Mumbai, April 20: Companeroes SC and Bandra Packers scored contrasting wins from their respective matches in the MDFA Women’s League 2017 and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Thursday.

Kimberly Pereira netted the all-important winner as Companeroes recorded a 1-0 win against PIFA. Later, Bandra Packers powered by the twin strikes from Namrata Thakur romped to an authoritative 3-0 win against Football School of India. Pooja Morey had scored the opening goal for Packers before Namrata scored the next two.

Meanwhile, Oscar Foundation SC struck good form to score a facile 5-0 win against Fort United in another match. Strikers Pooja Gautam and Atishsa Saini, both scored a brace of goals each while Pooja Dhavre added one to complete the margin of victory.

Results –Women’s League: Oscar Foundation SC 5 (Pooja Gautam 2, Atishsa Saini 2, Pooja Dhavre) beat Fort United 0.

I.C. United 0 drew with Kapadia Nagar FC 0.

Companeroes SC 1 (Kimberly Pereira) beat PIFA 0.

Bandra Packers 3 (Namrata Thakur 2, Pooja Porey) beat Football School of India 0.
