Carmelites S.C triumph 2-0 over Madanpura FC

MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association)

Mumbai: Carmelites S.C were disciplined throughout as they beat Madanpura FC 2-0 in their Mumbai District Football Association ( MDFA), First Division match held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Saturday, 25th March 2017 afternoon.

A brace from No 10. William Fernandes was enough to give Carmelites S.C all three points against Madanpura FC but it also involved some resolute defending at the back. Carmelites were on the front foot early in the match. They were quick to capitalise on the momentum in their favour when William netted a beautiful goal in the 13th minute of the first half. A very determined Madanpura side were quick to respond to going behind but could not find the target as they had a stern Carmelites defence in their way. With the halftime whistle upon us Carmelites to a 1-0 lead at the break.

The second half was no different as William Fernandes was quick to double his side’s lead in the 49th minute, just a couple of minutes into the second half. From then on Carmelites did nothing silly and remained astute in defence. Made very few errors and did not allow Madanpura FC any chance to get back even one goal. The match at the full time ended with a 2-0 Carmelites win and the credit goes to all the players for sticking together, withering every attack and preventing leaking of goals.

For Carmelites S.C its three valuable points while for Madanpura FC, they will be looking to capitalise on missed opportunities in the next match.
