7th Dec: Mumbai Warriors U19 and Rudra FA wins

7th December 2017, Mumbai: On Thursday, a total of two matches were played at St. Xavier’s Ground, the first match between Mumbai Warriors U19 and PIFA Colaba U17 was the 1st Division clash while the second and final match of the day was a square-off between 2nd Division clubs Rudra FA and Sahar Silva Stars SC.

First Division Group D – Mumbai Warriors U-19 2-0 PIFA Colaba U-17

An encounter which seemed like a Youth I-League game with the youth sides of Mumbai Warrior and PIFA Colaba locking horns against each other. In what turned out to be a pulsating match, Mumbai Warrior U-19 registered a hard-fought 2-0 win over their Counterpart. This was Warriors’ second win in three games, whereas, PIFA Colaba lies at the bottom of the table.

Rahul Tare opened the scoring early in the game with a sublime strike before namesake Rahul Solanki wrapped up the game in the dying stages of the game with a fantastic strike.

Second Division Group G – Rudra FA 4-1 Sahar Silver Stars  SC

The second and final match of the day saw Rudra FA comprehensively brushing past Sahar Silver Stars SC 4-1 to record their second win of the ongoing campaign. They made a terrific start when Umang Gandhi opened the scoring in the 5th minute before Surendra Shinde (30′) and Abhishek Jadhav (40′) scored one each to increase the lead by three goals.

Sahar’s Subin Varghese did pull a goal back with a fantastic goal but it only turned out to be a consolation goal. Even though after losing out, Sahar Silver Stars SC are third in the table with 9 points in 5 games.
