MDFA U-14 Youth League – Day 9: Round-up

The 9th Day of the league concluded with some of the best fixtures of the group stages been played. With the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Under-14 Youth League is in its final stages of Group matches, a series of twist in the tales awaits in the coming days. A total of eight matches went underway at Lions Municipal Sports Complex (Santa Cruz) and Azad Maidan, MSSA.

Here is the Round-up of 12th November 2016:

Lions Municipal Sports Complex

Group A

The Group A opening match saw Sellebrity faced Mumbai United in a six-goal thriller at Lions Municipal Sports Complex. Sellebrity had to settle for a 3-3 draw against Mumbai United to share a point each. Imran Sheikh, Anirudh Ruke, and Omkar Khatre scored one each for Mumbai United, whereas, Kyle Justin, Varad Parab, and Ayush Kuliye got on the scoresheet for Sellebrity. The unique part of this clash was it had six different goal scorers.

The closing game of Group A between Goans and Kapadia Nagar proved to be a one-sided affair as Goans outclassed their counterpart 3-0 to register a comprehensive victory.

Suraj Kumar, Viju Pawar, and Armaan Adevwalia scored one each for the Goans.

Group B

In the opening match of Group B on Wednesday morning, a close encounter between Mumbai FC and Rhema Sports Foundation ended in a 4favor in favour of Mumbai FC, who registered their fourth win in a row and has booked their place in the next round of MDFA U-14 Youth League.

Vincent Ryan scored a brace, whereas, Raghav Dutta and Tanmay Karekar scored one each for Mumbai FC. Meanwhile for Rhema Sports Foundation, Adam Alvares, and Chirag Makwana scored a piece.

In the second match of Group B, Vision Rescue thumped Indian Football Academy 2-1 at Lions Sports Complex to continue their fine form. Aditya Pritviraj and Roshan Thakur scored for Vision Rescue, whereas, Moses Alexander scored the lone goal for Steadfast FC.

MSSA, Azad Maidan

Group E

 

In the opener of Group E, MSSA who is already qualified for the next round registered a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Madanpura FC to end their group stage campaign on a high note. Rohan Chikale and Gerald Barreto scored twice, whereas, Gurutva Swamy also got on the scoresheet.

In the second match of Group E, S.P Academy defeated PIFA 5-0 in a one-sided match at Azad Maidan, MSSA. Karaveer Singh scored twice with Sreejit Jherde, Pranay Dhamal, and Kevin Ngangona netting one each.

Group F

In the opening game of Group F, Salsette defeated Young Boys 5-0 at Azad Maidan to continue their brilliant form. Devansh Prabhu netted twice, Ganesh Khadka, Kanishq Jadhav, and Namit Patil scored one each.

In the second game, Kenkre FC thumped Nav Nihal 5-0 to register a memorable victory. Rony Chowdhury, Athar Ansari, Sammer Shaikh, Mohd Khatib, and Shane Arhana scored one each.

About MDFA Under-16 Youth League 2016 – The MDFA Under-14 Youth League 2016 is organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), promoted by the Sporting Lions and the Technical PartnersMumbai City FC has been kicked-off from 2nd November onwards at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA Azad Maidan with over 40 teams participating in this extravaganza tournament.

The 40 teams have been pooled in 8 groups with the top team from each group will progress to the quarter-finals. After the completion of the Youth League, the top 4 teams from this tournament will get a chance to play at the State-level Championship which is organised by WIFA (Westen India Football Association) as a part of the State Development Program.
