‘Victory’ for Indian Football, tweets Mr. Praful Patel

NEW DELHI: In what was a historic achievement for Indian Football, All India Football Federation President Mr. Praful Patel thanked AFC President Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and the AFC Executive Committee for their patronage.

‘I am grateful to the #AFC Executive Committee & to AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa for their conviction & patronage,’ Mr. Patel tweeted from his official Twitter account @praful_patel moments after receiving the Award on AIFF’s behalf for winning the Awards for the AFC Best Developing Member Association 2016.

Referring to India winning the Award, he also tweeted: ‘A proud moment for @IndianFootball & recognition of our developmental activities’

Mr. Patel collected the Award from Mr. Ali Kafashian, Vice President AFC. AIFF was nominated along with the Vietnam Football Federation and the Football Association of Malaysia for the Award.

Mr. Patel, who was also appointed the Senior Vice President of the AFC felt it was a ‘victory’ for Indian Football.

‘Electing me Sr. VP of AFC is a victory for #IndianFootball. It is confidence in India, in our vision and dev. of the game,’ he further tweeted.
