Y league

Goals from Sanaathan Sridhar and Jay Bhavnani secured Kenkre an easy 3-0 victory against new team Reliance Foundation Young Champs in the match 5 of Maharashtra zone U16 Y league

U16 Y league: Kenkre vs RFYC

A dominant display by Kenkre FC was in witness as RFYC, despite promising performances in the first half conceded three goals by the end of the game.

The game began with the experienced Kenkre dominating the passage of play. Fresh from the defeat from the previous game against FSI, Kenkre left no stone unturned as they began attacking from the start. Around the 22nd minute, Kenkre forward Sanaathan Sridhar’s long ranger finally broke the deadlock as the ball crept into the net, leaving Manik stranded.

Kenkre went into the break with the one goal lead. Goalkeeper Manik and Balaji Ganeshan‘s impressive performance at the defence ensured RFYC stayed in the game with just one goal behind.

Second half started with both teams looking to attack, RFYC tried foraying into the Kenkre defence but failed to make any impact. Jay Bhavnani whose hattrick was the only bright spot in the 3-4 loss to FSI, once again came up with a brilliant performance as his 62nd minute goal doubled the Kenkre lead.

In the 78th minute, Jay Bhavnani added one more to take his tally to five goals in two games this season as Kenkre made 3-0. The Inexperienced RFYC boys played a spectacular game but were unable to score and fail against an experienced Kenkre team.
