Third Division Champions Rizvi Ceramics humiliates Sagar M.M.S 6-1

MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) 2015-16 Third Division Champions’ Rizvi Ceramics met Sagar M.M.S in the Group C of Second Division at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Wednesday evening. Mazhar Ali’s hat-trick and Danish Farooqui’s twin strikes inspired Rizvi Ceramics to register a emphatic 6-1 victory over their counterpart.

Apart from Mazhar and Danish, Winston D’Silva also got on the scoresheet. Hat-trick hero Mazhar has become quite synonymous with the goals since last season as he was one of Rizvi Ceramics’s standout player in their journey to lift the third division title.

Rizvi dominated the whole match with their pressing and brilliant passing which was simply a delight to watch. Their organized defense and midfield added more strength to their play as Sagar M.M.S were left with absolutely no options.

Surprisingly, the first three goals were scored by Mazhar himself yesterday as he completed his hat-trick inside just 38 minutes. The chance came at his feet and he kept converting it with his brilliant poacher’s instinct.

In the second-half, Danish and Winston joined the party and scored two goals within fifteen minutes in the 43rd and 58th minute respectively to increase Rizvi Ceramics’ lead to five goals. Deval Nijap did cut short the deficit in the 50th minute for Sagar M.M.S with a superb strike.

Danish doubled his tally and also scored Rizvi Ceramics’s sixth and final goal to complete a remarkable victory.
