Mumbai FC U17 thrash Desperados 8-0 in First Division
Mumbai FC U-17 locked horns against Desperados in the Group E of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) First Division encounter at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel at Wednesday evening. The Under-17 side proved too hot for Desperados to handle as Mumbai FC inflicted a memorable 8-0 victory to strengthen their position in Group E.
Substitue Rabiul Shaikh scored twice, whereas, Kartik Yenurkar, Abhishek Patil, Gaurav Gawas, Rohan Shukla, Roysten Castelinho, and Calvin Baretto scored one each to complete a resounding and satisfactory victory over a shaky Desperados side.
Right from the kick-off, Mumbai FC looked in a better shape, both physically and mentally, and their organized structure was nothing than icing on a cake.
Desperados never looked like a side who would compete such a sheer Mumbai U-17 side. Each time Mumbai attacked, it seemed that they would score. It didn’t took time for Mumbai FC to open their account.
Kartik Yenurkar put Mumbai in front in just nine minutes before Abhishek Patil scored the second in the 26th minute to ease off Mumbai FC’s pressure. The boys in yellow went on a rampage in the next fifteen minutes or so as they notched up three more goals to increase their lead by five goals.
Gaurav Gawas made it 3-0 in the 36th minute with a sublime strike straight into the back of the net when few minutes later Rohan Shukla and Roysten Castelinho added two more to make it 5-0 inside 45 minutes.
Desperados was completely down and out. The last three goals came in the dying moments of the match as Calvin Baretto’s goal, and Rabiul’s brace made it 8-0 for the colts.
