The first edition of Lokhandwala Soccer League kicks-off!

The first edition of the Lokhandwala 7-a-side Football League tournament inaugurated on the 3rd of January 2016, consisting of 8-teams: Lokhandwala Football Club, Lokhandwala Football Club Academy, Kapadia Nagar Football Club, Kapadia Nagar Football Academy, Millat Football Club, Rudra Football Club, Mighty Young Joe Football Club and Football Club Maffatlal, who will contest against each other from 3rd January 2016 until the 8th of January 2016 in a league format playing a total of 7 games in the process; the top-4 teams will qualify for the semifinals of the tournament, which is scheduled on the 9th of January 2016. The final of the competition will be held on the 10th of January 2016 at the M.R.I Ground, 1st Cross Lane, Lokhandwala, Andheri (West).
The inaugural ceremony of the Lokhandwala Soccer League was carried through under the presence of figures like Gajanan Kirtikar (Member of Parliament), Shailesh Phanse (Corporator), Sudhakar Ahire, Suryakant Khawle and Sachin Naik. It was optimistic, at the least, how an initiative was taken and was successfully executed with a solitary intention i.e. to promote the game of football in the society and community we reside in.
The L.S.L is a filling fit to what football in India requires in this moment of time i.e. more number of competitive fixtures. The tournament has a variety of teams participating, here a special mention to the Lokhandwala Football Club and Kapadia Nagar Football Club, who also have an additional team – their academy teams – participating in the tournament, which did fairy well on the opening round of games, too.
The opening round of games saw: Lokhandwala Football Club featured against Kapadia Nagar Football Academy, Lokhandwala Football Club played Millat Football Club, Kapadia Nagar Football Club versus Rudra Football Club and Mighty Young Joe Football Club countered Football Club Maffatlal.
In the opening game of the competition, Kapadia Nagar Football Academy came from a goal down to beat Lokhandwala Football Club 3-1. Having taken a one-goal lead into the second-half, Lokhandwala Football Club couldn’t really recover from a shocker of an equalizer K.N.F.A scored from their goalkeeper Ejaz. 6 minutes later, Faisal headed his team in the lead with the win finally wrapped-up two minutes before normal-time ended by Shoaib.
While Lokhandwala Football Club Academy and Millat Football Club held each other from scoring; neither side fell short of chances, and even if Millat Football Club enjoyed more chances it was L.F.C, who had better chances at their disposal to convert.
K.N.F.C eventually won 3-1 against Rudra F.C. as they were rightly registered a victory – on the back of their Ivorian Steve hattrcik – with their sheer attack-minded play, which saw their star 3-man Ivorian attack-men, not stumble even after Rudra F.C. fought back as they leveled-up the scoring to shake-up K.N.F.C’s early attacking momentum.
In the last game of Day 1, Mighty Young Joe tussled against Football Club Muffatlal in a crucial 2-1 victory. Vivek Tiwari and Craig D’Souza helped their team win a hard fought contest, which saw the winner scored in the last-minute of second-half stoppage-time.
A pulsating day of football game came to closure with the second starting from today 5:30 p.m. up till 9:00 p.m. at the M.R.I Ground, Lokhandwala, Andheri (West).
