Aniket Panchal inspires PIFA Colaba to defeat Steadfast FC 2-0

The U15 side of PIFA Colaba registered yet another victory after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Steadfast FC in the Maharashtra Zone of U15 Youth League at All Saints Football Ground, Bhiwandi.

A first-half strike from Aniket Panchal put PIFA Colaba ahead. The number 8 turned out to be the provider in the second-half after his delightful lob ball found Akshay Jadhav, who perfectly placed his shot into the left bottom corner.

PIFA Colaba dominated the first-half with inform midfielder Aniket Panchal controlling the game for the victors. The midfielder proved to be a potent threat for Steadfast FC.

Early in the first-half, it was PIFA Colaba’s Aniket Panchal indeed, who opened the scoring with a sublime finish to give his side a deserving lead.

The pressure from PIFA Colaba’s midfielders were proving too much for Steadfast FC to handle. The duo of Aniket Panchal and Ranjan Tamang created numerous chances for PIFA Colaba, but had to wait until the second-half.

With only minute left in the first-half, Steadfast FC almost conceded after a poor display of defending. The backline of Steadfast FC failed to clear Aniket’s free kick, which felt into teammate Prasheel’s path.

The number 9 launched a powerful right footed volley which went inches wide off right hand post.

15 minutes into the second-half, Ranjan Tamang could have doubled PIFA Colaba’s lead when he blasted Aniket’s cross over the bar from eleven yards.

Six minutes later, Aniket Panchal delivered a huge blow to Steadfast FC when he brilliantly found Akash Jadhav in the box with a fantastic lob ball, the number 11 comfortably found the back of the net to increase PIFA Colaba’s lead by two goals.

Akash could have added another goal late in the match, but his header was brilliantly kept out by Steadfast FC goalkeeper Jaimeen Shah.

Steadfast FC failed to cope up against a organized PIFA Colaba further in the match as the boys in orange ran out as 2-0 winners.
