Tata Power pound We Care FC 2-1

Tata Power scored a hard fought 2-1 win against We Care FC in a Second Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Saturday, 20th of August 2016. Ricky Bagade and Viral Rathod scored a piece each to secure the win for Tata Power, while We Care retaliated with a goal through Pawan Mangela.

Both sides started off cautiously, trying not to commit too many men forward in the initial stages of the match. As the game progressed, both sides became more-and-more open in their play, and as a result created a host of goalscoring opportunities.

With a carefully calculated play, Tata’s Ricky Bagade, bagged a goal in the 9th minute of the game.

With pressure building up, We Care FC tightened up but made reckless mistakes in terms of passing and marking players. Viral Rathod from Tata Power, who incidentally played his debut match, took the situation to his advantage and netted a beautiful goal just one minute before the half time.

Gary D’Souza, We care FC’s coach and a former Arsenal Soccer Schools coach in Dubai gave his team a fierce motivational speech and the second half saw We Care playing with great intensity and fervour.

In the 51st minute, We Care FC got a penalty free kick just 5 meters away from the goalpost and Pawan Mangela flipped the game and shot a goal with much finesse.

Desperately trying to equalise the score, the 60th minute saw a big collision between Tata Power’s goal scorer Ricky Bagade and We Care FC’s Chaitanya Mangela.

Until the last minute, the vigour and ferocity to make it a 2-2 was on but luck didn’t favour We Care as the finishing whistle blew off and Tata Power emerged as champions.
