St. Xavier’s Borivali tame St. Xavier’s Boys Academy and make their way to the finals.

St. Xavier’s (Borivali) beat St. Xavier’s Boys Academy 1-0 in the Third Division U-16 League Semi Final match at Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) ground, Azad Maidan on 19th of August 2016.

The first half saw both the teams having a 50-50 ball possession and Neel Pandya from Xavier’s Boys Academy hastily took a shot from the opponent’s defence line, hoping to get an early lead from the start, but ends up with an overly lofty shot, only to let Xavier’s Borivali regroup and play on.

In the second half, St. Xavier’s comes up with a calm and concentrated playing strategy. With the most ball possessions in hand, better passing and skilful tackling, Runal Patil breaks the silence and scored a splendid goal.

Samuel Sequeira from Xavier’s Boys Academy, flustered by the opponent’s score goes for a goal shot to equalise the score but in vain.

The finishing whistle saw the boys of St. Xavier’s Borivali dancing in joy as Runal Patil had earned his team a place into the finals.
