Steadfast FC suffers defeat at the hands of Mumbai FC

Steadfast

20th November 2016: Steadfast FC – Mumbai Rush SC welcomed Mumbai FC in the Under-16 Youth League Maharashtra Zone ‘Group B’ match at All Saints High School, Kalyan on Sunday evening. Meet Jain, Kamran Ansari, and Shreyas Sail scored one each to register a memorable 3-1 away victory against a spirited Steadfast FC side.

When these two sides met in the corresponding fixture at Cooperage Stadium, a lone goal by Tyson Jude Patel proved as the decisive goal as Steadfast FC narrowly won 1-0. Mumbai FC learned from their earlier mistakes and exploited Steadfast FC’s weakness to snatch all three points away from home.

After this win, Mumbai FC is currently in the second position behind DSK Shivajians with nine points in five games, whereas, Steadfast FC is third with five points in five games.

The first-half saw an end to end match with both the sides attacking recklessly in order to break the deadlock. Amit Verma, Jetra Chavda, and Cornelius Rodrigues had a fantastic half as the trio created a number of opportunities and almost came twice close to punish the Yellow Submarines on the counter.

Though it was the visitors who drew the first blood when Meet Jain opened the scoring in the added time of first-half to give Mumbai FC a solitary lead.

The second-half proved to be much better for Mumbai FC as they dominated the whole half to break Steadfast FC’s resilience. In-form striker, Kamran Ansari doubled the lead in the 63rd minute with a fantastic goal past Jaimeen Shah to increase Mumbai FC’s lead by two goals. In their 5-3 loss at the hands of DSK Shivajians, Kamran Ansari had also notched up a fine hat-trick so it didn’t seem surprising when he got on the scoresheet for Taposh Ghosh’s side.

Mumbai FC’s third goal came in the 73rd minute when Shreyas Sail joined the party as the Yellow Submarines were cruising in on a memorable victory. Steadfast FC did score a consolation goal when Tyson Jude Patel scored in the 77th minute, but it hardly changed the outcome as Mumbai FC sealed all three points to go second in the table.
