Steadfast FC ‘B’ settles for a draw against KNFC
Steadfast FC ‘B’ hold KNFC (Kapadia Nagar FC) 1-1 in their anticipating 3rd Division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xaviers Ground, Parel on Saturday evening.
Faizal Khan scored the opener for KNFC before Akram Khan levelled the scored early in the second-half. Both the outfit missed number of opportunities which led to a dull draw.
KNFC started brightly and capitalized very early when Kashif Mirza found Faizal Khan with a delightful long ball, Faizal controlled it brilliantly and lobbed it over the Steadfast FC ‘B’ goalkeeper Jaimeen Shah comfortably to put his side in front on the 9th minute.
KNFC then had number of vital chances which was not capitalized well enough in the first-half. Even after a dominant performance from KNFC, Steadfast FC ‘B’ still managed to snatch away a point.
Two minutes into the second-half, Steadfast FC ‘B’ levelled the score through Akram Khan after a beautiful left footed strike into the right bottom corner. KNFC’s failed to clear a danger cross which benefited Akram who had no defenders marking him.
Substitute Shoaib Shah almost scored for KNFC after coming on but his shot was brilliantly blocked by Abel Fernandes inside the box. On the other end, Akram’s fantastic free kick for Steadfast FC ‘B’ was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Gokul Krishna on 44th minute.
No genuine chances were created in the last stages of the match as both KNFC and Steadfast FC ‘B’ had to share the spoils.
