SSE Champions League Day 1: Round-up

sse

Soccer School of Excellence (SSE), a football academy who has made their name familiar with the development of grassroots programs in and around Mumbai over the last 7 years with its immense contribution towards the development of youth football. SSE trains over 1000 players every week at 29 different centres and schools in Mumbai. The academy has set up a league tournament 6 years running for the young kids to promote grassroots programs in the city. The SSE Champions League, their flagship Junior tournament has been kicked-off on 13th November 2016 at Karnatak Sports Association (KSA) Ground.

SSE CL‘s rules are quite unique and progressive which is designed to give players equal playing time and rotation in different positions. You can read the rest of the rules and format, here: http://www.sseunited.com/scl/sse-cl-rules.php

More importantly, every season SSE educates the kid’s parents on league etiquette and psychology with points which they should follow. A Few of points that they are advised to speak to kids before the match:

  • Every match is an opportunity for you to learn about your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Don’t forget to have FUN! It’s more important than winning or losing for now.
  • Take a few deep breaths if you feel nervous before the game. Here is the Round-up of Day 1:

Under 8 – The U8 category went underway with Beaumonde FC and Purple Hand FC facing each other at Karnatak Sports Association (KSA) Ground. Beaumonde registered an easy 6-0 victory to start their campaign on a positive note. Both the sides on a brighter note played brilliantly. The hunger for win, grit, and passion were visible in their eyes. Although in their second game, Beaumonde FC suffered a 9-0 loss at the hands of Footfun FA Blue. What can be called as a twist in the tale, Footfun FA Blue also suffered a loss when they went down 5-1 against Footfun FA Red, who also defeated Bravehearts FC 4-1.
