Round-up of Day 1 Girls: Hindu Hruday Samrat Chashak Rink Football Tournament.

The 4th Edition of Hindu Hruday Samrat Chashak Rink Football Tournament kicked-off today. The two-day long tournament constitutes of 24 Boys Teams and for the first time, in the tournament’s short history, 10 Girls Teams. After Round 1 of matches, 5 Girls Teams were knocked-out of the competition, as winners progressed into the next round.

The participating teams included Companeroes FC, UK United, Football Leaders Academy (A), Football Leaders Academy (B), Football United, KNFC (A), KNFC (B), Milan Football Academy, Rush FC and Football School of India (FSI).

In the opening match of round 1, after no goals in normal, Companeroes versus UK United headed into penalties. The hosts Companeroes edged past their opposition by 2-1.

Match 2 also took a somewhat similar route as the first match, with the fortunes of  Football Leaders Academy (B) and Football Academy were to be decided on penalties. After a 1-1 scoreline where Football Academy’s early lead given by Meenakshi in the fourth minute was cancelled out by Aarti. The match headed into a penalty shootout, Football Leaders Academy (B) kept their nerves, defeating Football United 2-0.

KNFC (A) managed a comfortable 2-0 win over Milan Football Academy courtesy of two goals from Komal in the first and 19thminute of the match, helping her side progress into the next round.

Football Leaders Academy (A) defeated KNFC (B) with the biggest score margin in round 1, a 6-0 thumping of the KNFC’s B team; Sneha and Suma were in form to lace home two goals each as Karishma further added to the score tally.

In the final match, Football School of India (FSI) entertained Rush FC. A 3-0 result rounded FSI’s dominance on the field and a fine performance from Akansha, whose three goals helped her side progress into the next round with ease.
