Reuben’s hat-trick help Western Railway clinch the RCF Premier Cup’16 Title

On the last day of the tournament, Sunday 18th December 2016, at RCF Colony.

The day started with the 1st semi-final match between Central Railways and Mumbai Customs, ended with a score line of 1-0 in the favour of the Railways as Ajinkya Nalvade Jersey no. 10’s lone strike in the 26th minute secured their spot in the finals of the 7th RCF Premier CUP which also saw two yellow cards conceded by Neville Miranda Jersey no. 3 & Aziz Qureshi Jersey no. 18 one each.

The 2nd semi-final match was later played between Western Railway & Nagpur FC resulting for the railways to trash the outstation teams hope to qualify for the next round as they were beaten by four goals to nil, after the first goal scored in the early minutes we soon got to see 44th minute goal by Reuben D’cruz which got to frustrate the Orange team as in the 59th minute two red cards were shown to Fuzail Pasha Jersey no. 17 from the Orange team & Raju Jersey no.4 from the Maroon outfit as both the teams had to play an 8-sided game but this couldn’t stop Somi P.T as he scores the 3rd goal of the game in the 64th minute later adding more to the score a goal in the 68th minute from Ravikant Naidu sealed the victory for the Western side as they face the other side of the railway in the finals.

The wait was put to bed as the finals kicked off at the end of the day in an atmosphere full of excitement and suspense where Western Railways played against Central Railways. Western Railways Reuben D’Souza scored the first goal and sustained their dominance throughout the first and second half. The first half scoreline read 3-0, the only goal scored by Central Railway was in the second half when Krishna Naidu attempted a free-kick however, the effort proved to be futile as Western Railways goalkeeper blocked the ball, despite the save Prabhas Janardan took the benefit of the temporary chaos and fired the ball to the back of the net. The game full of excitement and energy ended with a full-time score of 3-1, the hero of the final game Reuben D’souza scored a hat trick to seal the victory for the Maroon & White Army as they have enlisted themselves in the history of the RCF Premier Cup 2016 Winners.
