Preview: DSK Shivajians travel to Cooperage to hosts Kenkre FC

December 6, 2016, Cooperage Stadium: On Monday evening, Kenkre FC will be in the spotlight, again, as they take a stance for a second home match on the trot, in their Youth League Under-18 Zonal Round match against DSK Shivajians.
The hosts come into the fixture, having suffered two defeats from the three matches played so far, with Kenkre’s only win coming against MUM – PIFA Sports (Colaba) Football Club on matchday 2; a 5-0 win on the side’s visit to Mamurdi Ground. DSK, who will feature in only their second match of the season on Monday, can top Pune City Football Club, with a better goal difference if they manage to beat Kenkre.
During the last season, DSK managed to triumph with a 3-0 scoreline over Kenkre. On the scoresheet for DSK under-18s was Mawihmingthanga with two goals, an own goal from Kenkre’s Shubham Mane gave the visitors an early lead on 18 minutes; from which they looked they turning back.

Pune City wins 3-1 as Kenkre FC loose opening home match
Kenkre F.C. is in the mix on third position (with 3 points), and a win today will provide the team with a fighting chance if they are able to carry the form on their travels, in the upcoming matches. DSK, on the other hand, would not feel much affected if they can even get away with a draw.
The visitors come into the match as favourites to win, and eclipse Pune City Football Club at the top, in a tightly knitted table. Considering the past history of the fixture, it is expected DSK will try to grab hold of the game from the offset, and waste no time to carry out their gameplan.
Today will be the final time Kenkre host a game in the competition with their final game being a reversal of Monday’s fixture, an away trip to DSK Shivajians. As the hosts remain with just two games at their disposal, it becomes a real task for Kenkre to pull off rabbit out of the hat against DSK; if there is light at the far end of the tunnel, and it is a big if.
