Nishad Govindan scores four times, still loses 8-4 to St. Joseph in a thriller

Despite Nishad Govindan’s four goals for Sahayadri Krida Mandal, St. Joseph still managed to defeat them 8-4 in twelve goals thriller in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) First Division Group C encounter at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Wednesday.

Akash Sharma’s brace, Tyson Gonsalves, Reynold Murzello, Agnel Pereira, Vicky D’Souza, Vickey Mangela and Jayesh Surve scored each for St. Joseph to complete a sensational 8-4 victory.

St. Joseph undoubtedly dominated the whole game, displaying their lethal attacking prowess against a shaky Sahayadri Krida Mandal’s side. The only standout player for Sahayadri Krida Mandal was Nishad who took all the burden of his side to give a competition to St. Joseph.

Sahayadri Krida Mandal must sort out their defensive woes if they have to aim for promotion in the Super Division. St. Joseph failed to turn up for their previous match though but with the performance they displayed against Sahayadri Krida Mandal was nothing short of perfection.

Sahayadri Krida Mandal had lost to Veniza Vihar in their first match and got a walkover in their next match as Rhino FC failed to turn up.
