Mumbai Football Arena at the Andheri Sports Complex to be home stadium for Mumbai City FC for ISL Season 3.

Mumbai City FC is Mumbai’s franchise in the Hero Indian Super League. Bollywood actor and football enthusiast Ranbir Kapoor and chartered accountant Bimal Parekh together own the team. The team’s logo is a reflection of a resilient fortress that stands proudly, surrounding the logo that signifies the unrelenting, determined spirit of the city. The seven stars symbolise the islands that form Mumbai. Trains that are the very lifeline of the city ply millions of Mumbaikars across its vast expanse and connect these islands. Each passenger, each citizen of the city, is bound together by their love for the place they call home. 20 million citizens, 20 million hearts pulse to a single beat – the heartbeat of Mumbai. Mumbai City Football Club has displayed a consistent performance in season one and two and has been recognized as a distinguished attacking contingent.

Mumbai City FC today formally announced that the Shahaji Raje Bhosle Kreeda Sankul (known popularly as the Andheri Sports Complex – BKLP) will be their new home stadium for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

The Complex houses the Mumbai Football Arena which was constructed and developed in accordance with FIFA guidelines earlier this year and will now host Mumbai City FC’s home matches come October. The Arena will serve as the team’s fortress and stronghold and will house the club’s passionate supporters for the season.

Ranbir Kapoor, Co-owner, Mumbai City FC said “Our fans have shown us tremendous support through our two seasons despite results not being the best. We have always wanted to give back to them and moving into the heart of the city is one such step. Mumbai Football Arena (Shahji Raje Bhosle Kreeda Sankul) is a great venue, with easy accessibility for people across the city. The support from Mr. Aditya Thackeray, MDFA, the BMC and everyone at the stadium has been tremendous. We can’t wait to build this stadium into our new fortress, a place where away teams dread to come.”
