Sporting Options 3-2 Athens XI

Lakers FC 2-0 Falcon Brothers

In a Second Division MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) match, Sporting Options played a very intensified match against Athens XI and beat them with a score of 3-2 at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on 27th August 2015.
The commencement of the match saw both teams taking careful steps, avoiding mistakes with tight defences on both sides. Omkar Matkar from Sporting Options did the honours of netting the first goal of the game in the 18th minute.
Just a few minutes after the second half kick-off whistle, Paritosh Gohil shot a magnificent goal in the 41st minute. Athens XI’s Amit Charakh retaliated with a loft goal in the 45th minute.
Triggered by the setback, Paritosh Gohil charged for the ball, rushed up to the opponent’s defence line and shot his brace with much finesse in the 51st minute.
Akash Pathak, in a desperate attempt to bring the score up, gave Athens XI their second goal in the 56th minute. Till the last minute of the game, Athens XI tried to equalise the score but they had to eventually settle for a loss at Sporting Options decided to sit back and defend deeply.

Lakers FC vs Falcon Brothers

In another encounter, Lakers FC dominated Falcon Brothers with 75-80% possession of the ball. They were rewarded for their possession as Kaiwalya Tare found the back of the net in first half and Saurabh scored a spectacular goal during the second half cutting inside the D-Box before taking an unexpected shot, thus surprising the goalie and the grace of viewers applause. On the other hand, the Falcon Brothers were reduced to mere spectators. They were often finding themselves defending inside their own half. It was a one-way traffic dominated by Lakers FC throughout the match.
