MSSA: Cathedral & John Connon defeats Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) to lift U-16 Division II title
Cathedral & John Connon (Fort) registered a comprehensive 2-0 victory over R.S.B Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) to win the MSSA (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) U-16 Division II Final, at Cooperage Stadium on Thursday.
With this memorable win, the victors have ended their campaign with some splendid performances.
Sumer Zaveri who had also scored in the semi-final for Cathedral & John Connon (Fort) against St. Lawrence High School (Borivali), opened the scoring in the final with a spectacular goal.
Arya Vidya Mandir had a good amount of chances but couldn’t break their counterparts’ resilience who were solid and discipline for the larger part of the final.
Rishi Kothari sealed the match for Cathedral & John Connon in the last stages of the match after he comfortably scored past Arya Vidya Mandir’s Guransh Anand to complete a memorable win.
It will be quite interesting to see whether Cathedral & John Connon emulate this same firing performance again in the next season of MSSA.
