Millat FC’s Aniket scores hat-rick to sink Central Railway

25th November 2016: Millat FC faced Central Railway (H) in MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Super Division Group ‘C’ encounter at Andheri Sports Complex on Thursday evening. Aniket Shipe scored a fine hat-trick which guided Millat FC to a 3-1 victory against a side who was playing their trade in Elite Division last season.

Central Railway headed towards the match being favourites as the majority of the squad has quite an experience after playing in the topmost division for years. Inspired by Aniket’s brilliance, Millat FC went against all odds to produce a spectacular performance.

Central Railway started the game pretty well and surprisingly created numerous chances to go in front. The men in yellow couldn’t convert those chances and lost the ball possession number of times in the final third.

Whereas, Millat FC proved to be very clinical in front of goal which turned out to be the difference.

It took Millat FC just eight minutes to open the scoring. Aniket Shipe’s brilliant run into the box proved fatal for Central Railway as the number 80 powered his side in front with a wonderful finish. Things got worse for the side who got relegated from Elite Division last season when Aniket increased the lead by two goals in the 14th minute to break Central Railway’s resilience.

Four minutes later, Central Railway’s Shahbaz Pathan cut short the deficit when he scored past Millat’s goalkeeper Anas Ishke with a sublime finish.

With three minutes left before the half-time, Aniket completed his hat-trick to restore the parity and send Millat FC into the break with a 3-1 lead.

The second-half saw no difference in the scoreline as Millat FC sat back and dictated the game by keeping the major share of the ball possession, whereas, Central Railway rarely created any opportunities which could have threatened Millat’s backline.

In the end, it was Aniket’s brilliance which inspired Millat FC to register an important victory.
