MDFA U-14 Youth League: Group Standings

The ongoing MDFA U-14 Youth League has so far notched up huge appreciation from the participating teams, players, and the management. The MDFA Under-14 Youth League 2016 is organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), promoted by the Sporting Lions and the Technical Partners Mumbai City FC has been kicked-off from 2nd November onwards at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA Azad Maidan with over 40 teams participating in this extravaganza tournament. With the group stages in its final stages, let’s take a look at Group Standings as of 10th November 2016. The tournament is been held at Lions Municipal Sports Complex (Santa Cruz) and Azad Maidan, MSSA.

Group Standings (Top team from each group will qualify for the next round)

Group AGoans S.C is sitting at the top of Group A and more importantly they have already qualified for the quarter-final stage. They have scored an incredible 20 goals so far in three games, conceding only once, and the Goans has won all their three games comprehensively. Goans S.C is followed by Mumbai United and Sellebrity who have six points in three games. Kapadia Nagar is fourth with three points, whereas, Carmelites are yet to open their points tally.

Group B – Tournament favourites Mumbai FC is leading the Group B with three wins in three games, gathering nine points in the process. Alike Goans S.C, Mumbai FC has also qualified for the next round. Rhema Sports Foundation is second with four points, Vision Rescue and Steadfast with three points, and Indian Football Academy with zero points. Mumbai FC has also scored the most number of goals, scoring nine goals in three games.

Group CJ.J Academy has already qualified from Group C after winning all of their three games. They have scored eleven goals so far and have conceded only three. Hegdenar Boys and Desperados are second and third respectively with six points each in three games. KSP Hydro are fourth with three points and Veniza Virar are yet to open their account.

Group DMumbai Warriors are leading Group D by goal difference with Phoenix Sports just below them who are fighting for the elusive top spot. Both the outfit are tied with nine points in three games and they will face each other the Group decider match. Mumbai Warriors’ goal difference is 20, whereas, Phoenix Sports’ GD is 15. Dadar XI, FC Mumbaikar are third and fourth respectively with three points with Mangesh Sports Academy are at the bottom of the table.

Group EM.S.S.A (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) is one of the two teams in the tournament who are yet to concede a single goal. They have already qualified for the next round with nine points in three games and has scored 17 goals so far. Sunday Boys (9pts in 4 games), Madanpura S.C (3pts), PIFA (3pts), and SP Academy (0pt) are second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively.

Group FSalsette and Kenkre are fighting for the top spot in Group F. Salsette are currently top with seven points, Kenkre with six points in three games, and Bharat FC with also six points, though they have already played all their four games. Young Boys are third with three points, whereas, Nav Nihal are at the bottom of the table.

Group G – This is undoubtedly the only group which is still wide open, for not only two teams but for three teams out of the five in the group. I.C.L, Milan Football Academy, and R.C.F are fighting for the top spot with each of them have one game in hand. I.C.L is currently at the top with nine points, whereas, Milan Football Academy and R.C.F are second and third respectively with six points each. Shastri Nagar and Youth Soccer Academy are fourth and fifth respectively.

Group HSagar S.C has already qualified from Group H with nine points in three games, scoring nine and conceding none. Alongside M.S.S.A, they are one of the two teams who are yet to concede. Bombay Gymkhana is second with nine points in four games followed by Grey Athletic (3rd), Maurya FC (4th), and Mumbai Strikers (5th).
