MDFA Division 3rd Round up

On 1st April, 2016, Friday, in the Mumbai District Football Association Third Division, S.C. Mumbaikars featured against B.P.C.L. (group H), Miners’ F.C. played hosts to Mumbai F.C. Juniors (group ) and, Madanpura F.C. featured against Mukand Limited (group ) at St. Xavier’s ground, Parel.

The 10:00 a.m. kick-off between S.C. Mumbaikars and B.P.C.L. saw the latter come from an goal down to clinch a 2-1 victory; as goals from Noah D’Costa in the 10th minute and James D’Souza on 40 minutes helped S.C.M. overcome an early goal from B.P.C.L.’s no.36 Gopi on the 8th minute mark.
Having taken an early lead, B.P.C.L. failed to match and answer S.C. Mumbaikars’ intensity and pressure, and ultimately losing on from winning position against a superior opposition in S.C.M.

The second match between Miners F.C. and Mumbai F.C. under- ended in favour of Miners’ F.C. by two goals to one with Mukesh Vishwakarma and Joseph D’Cruz on the score-sheet for Miners’ F.C. and Essa Momin for Mumbai Juniors.
Both sides, having battled well, in-order-to get the better of their respective opposition, concluded the first-25 minutes at 1-1. Miners’ F.C. took the lead from a defence mixup from the Mumbai F.C. Juniors back-line through Mukesh Vishwakarm in the 19th minute, but the away-side responded quickly by leveling the scoring via Essa Momin minutes later.
In an open game of football, where both sides played aggressively – on the front-foot, the match remained in balance, after gave the lead and leveled the scoring before the halftime break.
In the second-half of the match, having contested equally at either ends of the field, another slip-up in the 46th minute of the game from the Mumbai F.C. Juniors backline sent Joseph D’Cruz all clear on goal; the Miners’ F.C. no.11 made no mistake in converting the chance, putting the ball past the Mumbai F.C. Juniors goalkeeper to give his side the lead for the second-time in the match on 46 minutes, earning maximum points in the process.

In the third game, Madanpura F.C. versus Mukand Limited, a 23-minute strike from Munaib Ansari of Madanpura F.C. put the hosts in front going into the first-half break. M.F.C. were the dominant team throughout the first-half, although they hardly troubled the Mukand Limited goalkeeper – as for most parts their possession was in the midfield area.
In the second-half, Mukand Limited started-off brightly, providing early pressure, but failing to deliver quality in front of the goal. Whereas, Madanpura F.C. on the other hand missed chances of their own. Midway through the second-half, Mukand Limited were presented with a glorious chance as a result of a defence mistake from Madanpura F.C., and Milind Yadav made no mistake in placing the ball past the goalkeeper’s right from a narrow angle inside the 18-yard-box.
There was place for a final twist, and minutes before the full-time whistle, Madanpura F.C.’s no.7 Shadab Ansari converted from a fine free-kick just outside the 18-yard-area to give his side the lead deep into the second-half. The referee’s full-time whistle followed soon as M.F.C. captured full points from a crucial game in their season.
