MDFA DIV I: Spartan Academy vs St.Paul’s S.C match report

Gracious display of Tiki Taka football by  St.Paul’s S.C  saw them score 4  goals past Spartan Academy  in Division I clash of MDFA at Xavier’s ground in Parel. St Paul’s  team dominated the proceeding from the very first second of the match Controlling the possession of  the ball through  their dominant midfield .

St Paul’s team  were rewarded for their early hardwork  put in by midfield  as Marshal Francis opened the  score line for St. Paul’s  in 28th minute providing  a neat finish to a cut back as  Spartan Academy ‘s keeper left with  no chance . St Paul had a glorious opportunity to increase their  lead to 2-0 when  Spartan’s no 23 Nishad tripped  St Paul’s  striker Shane  inside penalty box awarding  St.Paul  a penalty.  St Paul’s captain stepped up to take  the spot kick.  But his effort  went agonisingly wide as he  blew up the chance of increasing his sides’s lead to 2-0 .

However St Paul’s skipper  were given sigh of relief courtsey of stupendus side volley strike by their striker Shane Menezes . St Paul’s 9  latched on to defelected ball of  the Spartan’s defender to connect thuderous side volley to increas his side’s advantge to 2-0 as St. Paul S.C. went into the half  time with 2-0  scoreline.

In the second half  Spartan Academy started on  slightly brighter note  pressing for the ball high up in the field.Their constant resurgence for  the goal was paid off  as defnsive mishap from  Paul’s defender . The defnder went for the ball against his own Goal keeper’s shout resulting in collosion thus  costïng   them a goal as Sujit pulled one goal back for Spartan’s Side and the scoreline became 2-1.

After that defensive mishap St Paul’s team took the proceeding in their own hand . The first chance  went to their  striker Shane . He collected a  dunk  ball over the spartan defence  and   carried the ball as spartan’s goal keeper came of the line but the no 9 blew the shot wide with his right foot. St paul pushed harder in opposition half for the third goal . Soon St. Paul’s  no 18 Judon d’Souza  added the third  after providing neat finish to  atrough ball.

The fourth goal of the match came with very well crafted  Tiki Taka move  finished by Judon D’Souza . The  move started on half line  after Chetan Jagnade  won the ball in midfield and quickly  gave it to Judon D’souza . The duo exchanged few first time exchange before Judon D’souza finshied the well crafted move to make it 4-1.The match ended with same scoreline as Saprtan’s palyer’s were  easily outplayed by ST Paul’s .
