ISL Transfers: Delhi Dynamos Sign Brazilian midfielder Memo

Delhi Dynamos new signing memo

Delhi Dynamos acquire Brazilian midfielder Memo to boost up their already midfield dominant squad.

Delhi Dynamos Football Club has added the Brazilian midfielder Emerson Gomes de Moura to their squad for the upcoming third season of Indian Super League. Confirming it on twitter, “DDFC sign its third Brazilian Lion, Emerson Gomes, for @IndSuperLeague 2016!”

The 28 year old, who plays as a defensive midfielder, is the latest foreign addition to the Delhi Dynamos’ roster and joins the club from Brazilian club America F.C. He will be the third Brazilian in DDFC squad along with Bruno Pelissari and Marcilinho.

Emerson Gomes de Moura nicknamed as Memo, has played for different clubs across Brazil. Memo’s started his career at Santa Cruz, from where he passed through the youth ranks, and has been loaned to various other clubs such as Botafogo-PB and Ponte Preta. He has amassed more than 120 appearances in club games.

Memo only goal was a memorable one that came in a losing cause for Santa Cruz in the 2012 Copa do Brasil first round as the club were eliminated by Penarol.

“It is a great opportunity for me to play in a fast growing league, and for that I would like to thank the Delhi Dynamos management for extending this offer to me. People talk a lot about ISL back in Brazil, as many big Brazilian players like Roberto Carlos and others have featured in the previous two seasons. It is a new experience for me, and I am looking forward to this challenge.” Memo said.

Head coach Gianluca Zambrotta seemed happy with the signing and feels the new acquisition will add to the strength of Delhi Dynamos F.C.’s midfield this season.

“His addition to the side will strengthen the team’s midfield. He has played for different clubs across Brazil and I believe the experience that he has gained over the years will be of immense help to the team.” Zambrotta said.

The Club’s Chief Technical Officer Mr. Vishnu Madhu,  “We welcome Memo to the Delhi Dynamos F.C. family. He is our third Brazilian signing this year and we are really happy to have him onboard with the Lions”
